Have you ever wanted something soooo badly that no matter what you were going to get it! Any means necessary right? How about that ice-cream craving, or a craving that no one else would even imagine or think about, or a car or even a personal matter that you want to accomplish or obtain? If you haven’t said yes to any of these just live a little longer! 
Well, that is my story! That is me! Ever since I met that music therapist my sophomore year in college while pursuing a degree in music education, I was determined that I was going to be a music therapist one day.
At that time, I didn’t know that I wanted a business. Not many people in my family have their own businesses. As a matter of fact, I don’t know anyone in my entire family that has their own business. I think I could say that I am a first generation business owner. But we’ll get to that a little later. So I finished my degree in music education and received my certificate to teach; all the while getting that degree, I was telling people that I am also going to be a music therapist. No one seemed to know or even understand what music therapy was. Shoot, I hardly knew! However, I knew deep down that I was going to be a music therapist. So my journey began in-spite of the smirks, the under breath remarks, the laughs, the looks, etc, I still held my head up and decided I was going to go to the best school and be the best music therapist I could be.
It was not by ANY means an easy journey. As a matter of fact, I didn’t finish my degree in MT the first go around. It actually took another 7 years and another 8 years to start my own Music Therapy and Music Education business! But, I did NOT GIVE up! There were times when it looked impossible and was very discouraging but I knew that I was going to be a music therapist. It wasn’t until I attempted again that I decided that I was going to own my OWN business. I am thankful for those experiences and derailments along the way because I can say today that my dream came true. It is NOW a Reality! I have an a business owner! Not only a business owner but doing something I really truly love! That is sharing music with every age group possible! I GET to share what I truly love doing with the Young and Elderly alike! Wow sooooooo Amazing!!!!
And this is just the beginning! Will there be interesting times ahead? Perhaps!!! But I will never EVER give Up! I implore you, don’t you ever give up on your dreams and desires either!
Again, whatever your business dream is or desire is NEVER…GIVE…UP because you may be the one difference maker to make a difference in the lives of so many others!
